Knight Essay Contest
The Pennsylvania State Society and many of the 22 local SAR Chapters in Pennsylvania participate in the Knight Essay Contest.
The Knight Essay Contest is open to all students attending public, parochial, or private high schools (including accredited home schools), who are in grades 9 through 12 during the contest year. The contest requires an original essay written in English, with a minimum of 750 words and a maximum of 1000 words (excluding title page and bibliography). The topic of the essay must be an event, person, philosophy, or ideal associated with the American Revolution, the Declaration of Independence, or the framing of the United States Constitution.
